Nokomis, Inc. is a high growth technology company dedicated to detecting, identifying, locating and providing diagnostics of electronic devices. Founded in 2002, Nokomis is the pre-eminent company in the world in the detection, identification and geolocation of electronics. The company was founded on the premise that there are more and more electronics in the world and a large and growing market exists for companies that can effectively detect, identify, geolocate and provide diagnostics of electronic devices using advanced electromagnetic techniques.

Nokomis Advanced Electromagnetic Location of Electronic Devices (AELED) technologies exploit the principles of electrodynamic interactions with electronics through advanced technology to passively locate, detect, characterize, track and mitigate activities of adversaries’ equipment and their ability to carry out operations. The resulting passive sensor product line is called Hiawatha.

Nokomis has developed the Hiawatha product lines for the detection, identification and geolocation of a variety of threat electronics for Defense and Security needs. These product lines provide solutions needed related to homeland security technology, to include border protection, marine security, counter insurgency, city surveillance, intelligence infrastructure, and other critical security infrastructure. A major focus area for the technology is the detection of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) electronics.

A secondary product line is the Manufacturing Electronics Health Monitoring (MEHM) product line that uses advanced sensors developed over nearly a decade of work to provide advanced monitoring of automated manufacturing processes.

The third primary business area is technical services. Nokomis provides support to large companies in the mitigation of electromagnetic effects that adversely impact technologies intended for use in areas encompassing Defense, Medical and Aviation industries.

Government customers include the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the National Science Foundation. Nokomis has a remarkable track-record of winning Phase III contracts (commercialization of technology) from government funded Phase I and Phase II Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) research efforts. The majority of company revenue is derived from Nokomis’ expertise in passively detecting, identifying and locating electronic devices.

Nokomis is a certified small business with corporate offices located in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. The 50,000 sq ft Charleroi facility is endowed with state-of-the-art scientific, engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Additional locations include an Embedded Systems Division located in Toledo, OH; a 163 acre test facility in Mather, PA; and sales offices in Bridgeville, PA and Baltimore, MD.
